For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. HOW ABOUT TIM TEBOW SHOWING HIS LOVE FOR AND FAITH IN THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD!!

There is much in the news these days regarding Tim Tebow and his faithfulness to Christ, and most of it is negative of course. The evil in this world simply cannot understand someone outwardly showing their love, gratitude, and reverence to our great Father in Heaven. Kudos to Mrs. Tebow who is a wonderful witness that there is a God and that He loves and cares for His creation. Although she was advised that she and her child would have been better off if she would have killed that baby in her womb, she chose to trust Yahweh. I am not surprised that her son is living what he believes, just as she does. What a great testament that GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE, AND THAT HE IS IN CONTROL OF ALL THINGS! We could surely use more women living such Godly examples in our world today.

My family and I are members of the Christian Motorcycle Association, and the Chaplain of our Pueblo Chapter wrote an article for this month’s newsletter that expresses the Christ-like view of Tebowmania better than I ever could. ENJOY!

Chaplains Article
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)

“Tebowmania”

In a way, it’s surprising that people are making such a big deal about Tim Tebow’s faith in Jesus Christ. It shouldn’t be that unusual for people who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, to express that faith and gratitude to Him, wherever and whenever they recognize the grace of God in their lives.

Unfortunately, freedom of religion has been turned into freedom from religion, especially if your religion is the Christian faith. Those who believe in the God of the Bible have been “encouraged” to keep what they believe to themselves, not to “force” their faith on others. But if the marketplace of ideas ignores the ideas about faith, it ignores the most important issues that people in our world face. So Tim Tebow is breaking the “norm” by unashamedly expressing love and appreciation for God, which from all aspects, appears to be natural and heartfelt for him, just as the Bible he believes teaches him to do. He is not trying to force others to be that way,
but he’s the “bad guy” for expressing his faith. I personally think Tim Tebow is the “bad guy” to so many people because his expression of his faith shines a light on them, revealing that their belief in God may just be a facade.

Tim Tebow is a good role model. How many sports figures do you hear about in the news as good role models? It seems like too many of them are noted for their arrest records, drugs, gambling, drunk driving, abusive behavior, even murder. I think most parents would rather have their sons and daughters “Tebowing” than doing drugs and getting drunk. It’s refreshing to have a good role model before us, and it’s a shame to see people trying to tear him down, just because they are jealous.

Tim Tebow doesn’t say that he wins games because of his faith in Christ. If that were the case, was he not a Christian when games were lost? Of course not! Although some people believe in God only when things go well, win or lose, Tim Tebow’s faith remains strong, whether his team wins or loses. That should be an encouragement for all of us.

Respectfully Submitted,
Clay Austin, Chaplain

You can answer his cries and help us put a stop to the pain of abortion.

Unborn babies feel pain. Recent medical studies show they feel far more pain and at an earlier age than previously known.

The question is, what are we going to do about it?

These babies need a voice. They need you.

Fortunately, you can do more now to help stop the pain of abortion than at any other time in 2011! An unprecedented National Right to Life campaign could help reach and persuade more than 22 million Americans that unborn pain is real and that it must be stopped. The plans call for a multi-media campaign using ads, signs, mailings, bumper stickers, petitions, church bulletin inserts and brochures.

There’s just one catch: the campaign still needs more than $60,000 to meet its goal! Planning and budget needs mean that whatever funds are given to this campaign between now and December 2nd will determine the size of the campaign.

Please help make this vitally important campaign a success!

You will determine the success of this campaign to bring attention to the plight of unborn children who feel pain from abortion. Please help now. Please forward this message and ask your friends to help with a donation, as well. Your donation of $1,000 or $100 or $50 today will go a long way toward giving what unborn children who can feel pain deserve: a public that understands their plight and is moved in their hearts to stop the tragedy.

Thank you for being a voice for unborn children whose lives are so cruelly threatened.

Our great nation is, more than ever, under attack by the evil forces in this world who hate God. As we pray for God’s will, He is on His throne, we must also take responsibility as His children to do our part. We most assuredly need to pray and take action to change the current administration in our White House. But, as that happens, we must continue to fall on our knees and cry out and repent and turn from our evil ways of the world. I am once again reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If MY PEOPLE, WHICH ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their WICKED WAYS; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (Emphasis mine.) There are far too many who claim God’s saving grace, but continue to live in sin and teach others that it is ok, just be good. At this Thanksgiving time of year, let us become more attentive and responsible for and to God’s truths. “To whom much is given, much is required!”

“This is an article reprinted by permission in it’s entirety from The Christian Law Association’s website. It contains truths that are never heard in our schools or media today. Due to the pernicious demand that we must have a “separation of church and state” by the anti-God crowd, the truth of our country’s Godly heritage has been virtually drowned out. Hopefully this article will help you to see that God is real and that He is still at work.” (Images added by Anna.)

Americans are beginning to forget the important origins of our national Thanksgiving holiday. Its spiritual significance is no longer taught in our nation’s public schools. In fact, most school children today are taught that Thanksgiving originated when the Pilgrims invited their Indian friends to dinner to thank them for providing sustenance after the Mayflower landed. As with much of modern American revisionist history, there really is much more to the story.

Coming to America
The Atlantic crossing in the fall of 1620 had been an extremely difficult journey for the Pilgrims. For two months, 102 people were wedged into what was called the “tween decks” of the Mayflower-the ship’s cargo space with only about five-and-a-half feet of headroom. No one was allowed above deck because of the terrible storms. This was no pleasure trip. The Pilgrims comforted themselves on their journey by singing from the Book of Psalms. This “noise” irritated one of the ship’s paid crewmembers. He told the Pilgrims he was looking forward to throwing their corpses overboard after they succumbed to the routine illnesses common on such voyages. As it turned out, this crewmember himself was the only person to die on the voyage and be thrown overboard. God providentially protected His own people. A little-known fact about the Mayflower is that this ship normally carried a cargo of wine; and the wine spillage from previous voyages had soaked the beams, acting as a disinfectant to prevent the spread of disease. During one terrible storm, the main beam of the mast cracked. Death was certain if this beam could not be repaired. At that moment, the whole Pilgrim adventure could very easily have ended on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Providentially, the Pilgrims had with them a large iron printing press screw. That screw repaired the beam, saving the ship and all on board.

After sixty-six days at sea, land was sighted off Cape Cod, Massachusetts, not the place these Pilgrims wanted to be. They intended to establish their new colony in the northern parts of Virginia (which then extended to the Hudson River in modern-day New York), but two factors interrupted their plans. The winds had blown them off course, yes; but they later learned that other Englishmen who wanted to settle in the same part of Virginia had actually bribed the ship’s crew to land them farther north. Despite this chicanery, God was in charge and the Pilgrims landed exactly where God wanted them to be. Had they actually made landfall near the Hudson River, they most certainly would have been immediately attacked by hostile Indians. Instead, they arrived at the one spot along the coast where hostile Indians had been providentially removed from the land. Many years before the Mayflower journey, local Indians had captured a Frenchman on a fishing expedition to that region. Just as they were about to kill him, the Frenchman warned them God would be angry, would destroy them all, and would replace them with another nation. The Indians boastfully replied that his God could never kill them. Yet, a year or two before the Pilgrims arrived in this very same region, nearly all the native inhabitants had been wiped out by a plague.

Help Arrives
Despite this miraculous provision of safety from hostile Indians, the Pilgrims barely survived their first winter on the Cape. Only four families remained intact; but God was still faithful. In the spring of 1621, He sent Squanto, an English-speaking Indian who offered to teach the Pilgrims how to survive in this strange new land. Squanto was one of only a few local Indians who escaped the plague. He had been captured as a young man and taken to England as a slave. During that time he mastered the English language. When he was freed, he returned to his native territory on the Cape shortly before the Pilgrims arrived.

Squanto or Tisqua..." width="100" height="136" />

Probably the most important thing Squanto
taught the Pilgrims was how to plant the native winter staple crop-corn. The Pilgrims thanked God for this wonderful helper. They also repaid Squanto by sharing with him the most valuable treasure they had brought with them from England-the Gospel. Squanto died a year or two after coming to the aid of the Pilgrims, but before his death he asked them to pray with him that he might go to be with their God in Heaven.

Peace and Thankfulness
Squanto introduced other Indians to the Pilgrims, and these Indians were also impressed with the Pilgrims’ God.

During the summer of 1621, it appeared the year’s corn harvest would not survive a severe drought. The Pilgrims responded by calling for a day of fasting and prayer. By the end of the day, it was raining. The rain saved the corn, which miraculously sprang back to life. One of the Indians who observed this miracle remarked that the Pilgrims’ God must be a very great God because when the Indians pow-wowed for rain, it always rained so hard that the corn stalks were broken down. They noticed the Pilgrims’ God acted differently by sending a very gentle rain that did not damage the corn harvest. It was that miraculous corn harvest in 1621 that provided grain for the Pilgrims’ first Thanksgiving meal with their Indian friends and helpers. The evidence of history shows that on this first Thanksgiving Day, both the Pilgrims and Indians thanked God for His great provision and for His goodness toward them all. Unlike other Europeans who came to America, these Bible-believing Pilgrims were model Christians in their dealings with the native populations. During their first year on the Cape, Squanto, acting as a friend and interpreter, had assisted the Pilgrims in negotiating an important peace treaty with Chief Massasoit, leader of the nearby Wampanoag Indians. The two populations, Indian and Pilgrim, kept that treaty of peace for more than fifty years.

The Tradition Continues
The story of Thanksgiving doesn’t end there. The holiday itself was not officially celebrated until almost 170 years later, after the Revolutionary War had been won and our American Constitution had been adopted.

In 1789, Congress approved the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the Constitution. Congress then “recommended a day of public thanksgiving and prayer” to thank God for blessing America. President Washington declared November 26, 1789, as the first national day of prayer and thanksgiving to the Lord. Another 75 years later, after the Civil War ended, President Abraham Lincoln officially established the last Thursday in November as a day to acknowledge “the gracious gifts of the Most High God,” which He had bestowed on America. Every president continued this tradition until 1941 when Congress officially made Thanksgiving a national holiday.

In speaking with other women, I must agree that the greatest challenge to accomplishing a happy marriage is how husbands and wives communicate, or do not communicate with each other. My church employs an evangelist couple who are head of “Old Paths” Baptist Ministry. I find their “Communication in Marriage” to be very helpful as a reminder for myself, and I pray that it will be of great value to others:

“Communication in Marriage”

The most common problem in marriage seems to be the communication problem. God anticipated this and gave us many scriptures to help us foresee and overcome this problem. Here are just a few:

James 3:8-10: “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.”

Proverbs 18:21: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Proverbs 25:11: “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.”

Job 19:1-2: “Then Job answered and said, How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?“

I Peter 3:10: “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:”

Communication in marriage is more than simply talking to one another in the marriage context about the everyday problems that are bound to occur. Communication is the transmission and receiving of information, knowledge, facts, etc., etc. Mr. Webster in his 1828 Dictionary defines communication as follows:

COMMUNICATION, n.
1. The act of imparting, conferring, or delivering, from one to another; as the
communication of knowledge, opinions or facts.
2. Intercourse by words, letters or messages; interchange of thoughts or opinions, by conference or other means. Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you. 2 Samuel 3. Let your communication be, yea, yea; nay, nay. Matthew 5. In 1 Corinthians 15:33, Evil communications corrupt good manners, the word may signify conversation, colloquial discourses, or customary association and familiarity.
3. Intercourse; interchange of knowledge; correspondence; good understanding between men. Secrets may be carried so far as to stop the
communication necessary among all who have the management of affairs.

The bold and underlined thoughts above are a couple of ideas that I consider to be very important in establishing a good marriage relationship. I believe that the “interchange of thoughts or opinions” and the “good understanding between men” (or the husband and wife) are two key ingredients of a successful and happy marriage.

In Genesis God gives us some very practical instruction in the marriage context.

Genesis 2:24-25: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed”

Here are some suggestions based upon scriptural guidelines that will help you to communicate well in your marriage.

Proverbs 18:13: “He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.”

Listen to what your spouse has to say and don’t be in a hurry to spout your own opinion. Listening is a habit we should all cultivate.

Proverbs 15:23, 28: “A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! And The heart of the
righteous studieth to answer: …

Proverbs 21:23: “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.”

Proverbs 29:20: “Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.“

These thoughts follow the first very closely. Learn to think first and be slow to speak.

Colossians 3:9: “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;”

Ephesians 4:15, 25: “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:” Verse 25: “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.”

Be truthful in love. Be very careful not to exaggerate in your conversations.

Proverbs 15:1: “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”

Ephesians 4:31: “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put awayfrom you, with all malice:“
Anger, quarrelling, manipulative behavior will certainly cause many problems. Proverbs 25:11

James 5:16: “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Be ready to admit your error and ask for forgiveness. If you are on the receiving end, make sure that you accept the confession of wrong. Wipe the slate clean and go on. To forgive and forget is certainly a Godly trait that we should emulate in our lives.

Ephesians 4:32: “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”

Galatians 6:1: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering
thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”

Always be ready to build each other up. Don’t be a blame shifter (Genesis 2). Be a restorer not a criticizer. Don’t be a nagger. If you are criticized or blamed don’t react and respond in the same manner. Romans 12:17,21.

Ephesians 4:1-3: “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Philippians 2:1-4: “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.”

Understand that not everyone sees things as you do, and each person should “make allowances for differences.” Think about the other person and be genuinely interested in them and their opinions.
