Why do so many of God’s children forget that we will give account to Jesus?

Looking around at Christian behaviour today, I have to ask myself if many are aware of why we need to live our lives on this earth with eternity in mind. If we know and understand what God has revealed about the end time, it should cause us to live now with eternity in mind. I have always told my children that what we do with Jesus after we are saved will determine our lives in Heaven forever. How can we specifically focus on living for Jesus with Heaven in mind?

We can share the Gospel regularly. In light of eternity, it is vital that we make time to obey Christ’s Great Commission on a regular basis. Our time here is indeed very limited. Saturday morning.  I’m changing all my headers, as I do every month.

I love July.  I’ve always thought it was very cool to have a birthday on the 4th, and this year I’ll be hitting 70!

The Fourth of July is a wonderful day for America. We take the day off for picnics, parties, parades, and fireworks in celebration of the birth of a new nation, independent of any controlling forces except our own elected Congressmen.

I’ve always thought that the Declaration of Independence was poetic in its language:

Isaiah 6:1. “In the year that King Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.”

I don’t believe there is any artwork that can even come close to the reality of what Isaiah saw in his vision. The mind of man simply cannot comprehend the majesty, glory, and beauty of the Holy One of Israel.

In this verse, the title used is Adonai, which means sovereign or absolute Lord. His is sovereign.  No one sits above Him. No one has equal standing with Him. All the angels in heaven and all the people on earth are subject to Him, whether they know it and accept it or not.  He is Adonai. He is God.

Fourth Woe: Apostasy

Isaiah 5:20. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

The subversion of moral principals had become rampant in Judah and Jerusalem.  You cannot worship some man-created god and still pretend to practice true godliness.  The two things simply cannot exist in the same space.

I keep going back to something a pastor of ours said many years ago:  Sin will always take you farther than you intended to go. It is like a whirlpool–wide and slow-moving at the top, but once you are caught in, and  it circles downward, it narrows and goes faster and faster  until you are without escape.

Any society can legalize sin if they choose to do so, and maybe that makes people feel better about whatever they are doing that is against God’s truth…

Consider This!

Yes, let us consider this before any vote is cast for the clinton camp! If this woman gets elected, EVERYONE will face the consequences of God’s judgment!

Study God's Word

Isaiah 5:3-4. “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?”

The question is clear, and the results are inevitable. God asks the people of Jerusalem and Judah, “What more could I have done for you, that would have kept you in right relationship with Me?”

The answer is so sad. He had given them everything, including protection from their enemies, and still, all they had to offer Him in return was sour grapes.

Judgment would come.

The Righteous

So very true! Saddest thing is how those who call themselves Christ-like, but are trying to live with one leg in the world and one leg as a ‘Christian’, are some of the worst critics of those who take a stand for Godly values, maybe because they have grown too comfortable with sins of this world.

Isaiah 3:10. “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well  with him; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.”

In the midst of all these dire prophecies that will fall on Judah and Jerusalem for their sin, it is comforting that this verse is there. God will always honor those who are righteous. They may have to suffer with the entire nation, but they will be rewarded in some way for their determination to continue to do right, to follow the Lord, no matter what everyone else may say or do.

It is sad when the few who take a stand for righteousness do so against the desires of everyone else. Many times, the one who chooses godliness stands alone, and is accused of being judgmental, self-righteous, and proud. Sin can infect a whole culture, so that wrong becomes right, and right becomes wrong. It is…
